Establishing a new brand and website for the world's best freelance brand voice copywriter, apparently
Jonathan Wilcock is a Freelance Copywriter. Five years in, it was time to re-think and re-focus. How had the freelance landscape changed? Which kinds of projects were most rewarding? Was his current site doing him justice? He needed a design team who could interpret his vision and bring it to life.
He knew what he wanted – a grown-up looking site that acted as a counterpoint to a whimsical writing style. Elegant, lots of white space, simple, easy to navigate – and a notch or three above most freelancers’ websites.
Strategically, the brief was clear, but there were 1001 ways it could be interpreted. So we worked closely with him, exploring mood boards, colours, typefaces and user interfaces. Bouncing ideas back and forth, and fine-tuning until we struck gold.
We wanted to deliver an understated, copy-led site. A site that looked sophisticated, but completely effortless. And once the overall design approach was agreed, we created a modular system that made the back office just as easy to navigate as the shop window.
